We have a cloudless, blue sky, the sun is shining, no wind, and our weatherman has promised us a day with temperatures in the upper 70s.

A beautiful and welcome day, all the more welcome as we’ve not seen many of these days this spring. So far in May we could count the sunny days on one hand. The temperatures have bottomed out in the low 50s (low 30s at night); the rains have been heavy and unrelenting.

Seize the day!

We’d best seize this day, our forecast is for more rain beginning late tonight. Next day for sun might be Friday! Good gawd a’mighty! We’re Missouri Mules, not Missouri Ducks!

The Brew Crew is scurrying around trying to get boat ready and beat the next onslaught of nasty weather. The beer’s on ice, the fried chicken and potato salad have been fixed--thanks to Velda. Boating hor d’ oeuvres, anything we can drag out and eat, have been piled in the cooler. Cruising CDs, we like Jimmy Buffett, The Beach Boys and some Caribbean stuff, have been loaded in cases, and good time stories and laughs have been stock piled to share.

The only thing left to do is select a boating hat. I think today warrants The Whirligig!
