1. What is your favorite scary movie?

I like all Alfred Hitchcock movies, and most are scary, but Psycho is my favorite. Anytime it’s playing on television I watch it. And every time I jump outta my skin at the shower scene. I haven’t seen the new version, but I can’t imagine it’s done with Hitchcock’s flair for suspense.

2. What is your favorite Halloween treat?

I don’t have a favorite Halloween treat. My favorite anytime treats are Mom’s chocolate chip cookies. Wonder what she’s doing tomorrow? Maybe she’d bake me a coupla dozen cookies.

3. Do you dress up for Halloween? If so, describe your best Halloween costume.

No. Halloween isn’t a big holiday or event for me now, and it wasn’t a big deal when I was a kid. Christmas and birthdays were always the most celebrated times in our home when I was growing up. I have hazy memories of going treat or treating, and I can’t remember even one childhood costume.

Probably the best costume I remember was a time a few years ago when diva and I and two others dressed up as Goldie Locks and the Three Bears and went off to an aerobics class. We put diva in a blue gingham pinafore, Mary Jane’s and gold metallic wig, rouged on big red cheeks, and gave her a bowl of thick oatmeal (our mistake). The rest of us dressed as bears wearing red plaid bow ties. We completely disrupted the aerobics class, then took ourselves downtown to a local bar sponsoring a costume contest. We didn’t win, but diva provided entertainment by loading her spoon with gooey oatmeal and lobbing it across the bar at several customers.

4. Do you enjoy going to haunted houses or other spooky events?

Nope. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever been in a haunted house or attended any spooky events, unless some Brew Crew shenanigans could be considered spooky. There are some folks, I suppose, who’ve watched us carry on and consider us spooky.

5. Will you dress up for Halloween this year?

No, although a couple of kids told me they had a great idea for me this year. According to them, my gray hair would be a natural for me coming to work on Halloween dressed as the Wicked Witch of The North. I suspect, in the interest of continued survival, they substituted a w for a b!
